Data workflow automation
A toolkit for automating repetitive data engineering tasks — pipeline scaffolding, documentation generation, and deployment workflows for the Microsoft data stack.
DATAXYZ is a consultancy and a builder. We work with enterprise clients to fix what's broken in their data platforms — and independently ship production software that proves the methods work.
We work with CDOs, Heads of Data, and IT Directors to fix data platforms that have outgrown their architecture. Power BI at scale, Microsoft Fabric, CI/CD automation, AI integration.
Not a team of generalists managed from a distance. One senior practitioner who designs the solution, builds it, and stays until it works.
What we deliver →We independently build and ship software products with AI. Live applications serving real users in production.
The methods we recommend to clients are methods we run in production. We don't advise on things we haven't shipped.

I studied chemistry. I didn't come through the conventional route — no computer science degree, no data engineering bootcamp. I came through project management and project accounting at Mott MacDonald, one of the UK's largest engineering consultancies, where I ran headfirst into a problem that turned out to define the next decade of my career.
Month-end reporting took two weeks. Not because the data was hard to find. Because nobody had thought carefully about how it was structured. The organisation was sitting on everything it needed to make fast, confident decisions — and producing those decisions fourteen days too late to act on them.
So I taught myself. Late nights with Power BI before most people in the company had heard of it. Kimball dimensional modelling. Power Query. The principles underneath the tools, not just the tools themselves. I built an Excel data model from scratch — and the two-week wait became hours after month-end close. Same data. Same team. Completely different outcome. That result opened doors that led directly to everything that followed.
What I understood then — and have applied ever since — is that the problem is almost never the data. It's the architecture. Bad structure creates lag, distrust, and manual workarounds that calcify into permanent process. Good architecture compounds. Today, that means Microsoft Fabric — the platform where the entire data estate, from ingestion to insight, lives in one place and can be engineered properly. Power BI and Fabric are where I do my best work. Not as a tool operator, but as someone who understands how the whole system should fit together.
AI sits alongside that work — not as a replacement for it, but in genuine symbiosis with it. The most interesting problems I encounter now live at the intersection: data platforms that are structured well enough for AI to act on, and AI systems that make data platforms more powerful in return. I build agents and automated workflows, but the thinking behind them is the same as it's always been — understand the constraint, remove it structurally, and build something that runs without hand-holding.
“DATAXYZ is a bet on a different way of doing this work — where the outsider instinct, the systems view, and the discipline to build things properly are the whole point.”
We build and ship our own products. If we recommend agentic AI or modern data architecture, it's because we're running it in production ourselves. We don't advise on things we haven't shipped.
Data workflow automation
A toolkit for automating repetitive data engineering tasks — pipeline scaffolding, documentation generation, and deployment workflows for the Microsoft data stack.
Investment research platform
An investment research platform that runs 16 AI agents in parallel to surface insights across markets, filings, and macroeconomic signals. Shipped with Claude Code.
E-commerce marketplace
A Nigerian e-commerce marketplace connecting buyers to curated independent sellers. Architected through prompting by an experienced data architect, built end to end with AI.
This platform
The site you're on right now — a production React application with Firebase backend, XYZ Dojo learning platform, and client portal. Built with AI from first commit to deploy.
We start by understanding the actual constraint — not the symptom. A short diagnostic conversation to establish whether and how we can help, before any commitment.
One senior practitioner designs and builds the solution. No account managers, no handoffs. The person you speak to is the person doing the work.
We measure success by whether the thing works — not by hours logged. We stay until the outcome is achieved, then help you own it independently.
Candour before commitment
If your problem isn't the right fit, we'll say so before we start. We'd rather decline than take on work we can't do well.
Small number of engagements
We deliberately limit how many clients we work with at any time. You get genuine attention, not resource allocation.
We'll be straightforward about whether we can help and what that would look like. No obligation, no sales deck.
We respond within one business day. We take on a small number of engagements — if we're fully committed, we'll tell you.
